I have spent a few years making films with a production company called Ammonite in Bristol, UK. Ammonite specializes in developing their own state of the art cameras and lenses that enable things never seen before on television to be captured on camera. We ventured into the Masai Mara, Kenya to document Hyena behavior at night using image intensified infrared and thermal imaging. This was to be part of a larger series called Night Stalkers for National Geographic Wild. The series would cover crocodiles, Sri Lanka’s leopards and Costa Rica’s Jaguars. I would also help develop the equipment for use on these other shows including remote dolly systems to carry the thermal and intensified cameras.
